Mizmor Shir l'Yom ha-Shabbat - as sung in RSY/LJY

from Friday Night with the Cambridge Egalitarian Minyan by Gal Chadash (the Cambridge Egalitarian Minyan)

/

about

We like to open and close Psalm 92 by singing together; there are many melodies written for the first few verses, and even more for the last few (from 'Tsaddiq ka-tamar'). Not surprising given this is literally a song for (to?) the Shabbat day, ho ho. Traditional nusakh for 'chanting' the close of the Psalm also exists; it is a very stirring example of 'Magen Avot' nusakh.

A variant of the tune on this track is popular in the Masorti movement, but most of us prefer this upbeat version used in the Reform movement.
